MAKE A WISH....(Silhouette SD)

Well here is my first project using the Silhouette SD........OMG I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS MACHINE!!! I wish I had gotten it sooner. It's SOOOOO much better than my Cricut Expression - WOW!!!!!!! The cuts are truly amazing. On this card I made such a thin cut for the outline of the word "WISH" as well as the birthday candle and it cut like butter. My Cricut would have eaten that paper!!!!

Check out this close up picture (Look at how CLEAN that cut - WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!):

A HUGE THANK YOU to Nichol Maguorik for her amazing layouts and all her inspiration. She also took the time to answer a few Silhouette questions I had, which I thought was so sweet of her.

Supplies: Bazzill Textured Cardstock, American Crafts Heavy Weight Textured cardstock in Black, October Afternoon pattern paper, Vellum, Misc Sewing, all cuts including the card itself are from the Silhouette store.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous night!!

Hugs, T

  1. Teri, very cute card and clean cuts. Can you save the cuts you buy from their site, if so are they saved on computer or the Silhouette or do you pay every time you need a cut.

  2. I LOVE IT!! You buy each cut and it saves it to your Silhouette Library. Once you buy them, their YOURS. Not sure if you can save them to your computer - haven't figured it out. Hugs, T

  5. I made the switch from cricut to silhouette a few years ago and have no regrets. I'm so excited to see you join the Silhouette world because I just know you will be inspiring me with every one of your projects.

Have you joined the Silhouette yahoo group? The ladies there can be a great resource when you have questions.

Enjoy your new toy, I'm sure it will be one of your favorites for a long time! ;)

  7. Teri great job on your first project! I am lovin' that candle! I too LOVE my silhouette,if I didn't have so much invested in my cricut I would sell it and the stuff so I could invest more in my silhouette :)

  8. LOVE your card! So, is the learning curve short? It took me a while to learn my cricut, but... starting over...? I am very disillusioned with Provo Craft. All of the new machines, the cartridges have gotten so cutesy, I was a denonstrator last summer and it ended poorly. It all adds up!
I am thinking when my Expession gives it up, I am looking elsewhere!
Keep us up-to-date on how you like it and how easy it is to learn.
Thank you so much for sharing

  11. This looks really great! The cricut is really frustrating to cut small, intricate pieces. I'm not getting any more machines, but it's good to know what's out there.

  15. I think the Sil cuts so much nicer than the Cricut, too! I am so glad I sold my Cricut. I am going to do a lot more research before I get another electronic cutter, but that it amazing!
