Well HELLO and welcome to another TIOT (Try it out Tuesday)!!!

This week, the very talented Suzanne, challenged the designers to create a card using ONLY the colors Red, White and Blue!!! WOW this was fun.

This cute image is "Follow Your Heart" from the Victoria Case for SCACD collection....isn't she just ADORABLE???? When we were given this challenge, I knew right away I wanted to use this stamp.

The sentiments are the 4th OF JULY printable stamps collection from THE CUTTING CAFE. I printed the background stamp on cranberry card stock, stamped the balloons and trimmed out the full balloon then added a 3-D foam square to add dimension. I also tied some jute around it.

I inked the image using MEMENTO INK and colored in with COPICS. After I colored in the stamp, I sewed it to my card cover with a piece of blue felt as my mat. I used the Ranger White Inkssentials pen to highlight parts of the hair, shirt and jeans.

Make sure to visit the SCACD BLOG to see some amazing TIOT projects from the other designers......THEY ROCK!!!

Big hugs to all,

Getting back to my BBTB projects!!!!! I so love this team....Regina always gives us the best challenges and the DT totally ROCKS!!!

Ok - this week we had to use the FREEDOM cut from Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge. Since I didn't have a clue as to what design I would use, I took out my new "Originals" card book from CTMH......found a sketch I liked and VOILA - made the card.

I also used the 4th OF JULY printable stamp set from THE CUTTING CAFE - WOW this set is AWESOME!!! I printed the background stamp on Cranberry card stock from CTMH , cut the two pieces and also a small star using my Sizzix star die.

Then I cut two pieces of Navy blue Bazzill card stock and embossed them with the swirls Hero Arts stamp and clear embossing ink - LOVE THE LOOK!! I also embossed the medium navy star to match. I cut the large star in white felt, glued them all together and added Jute from Papertry Ink to wrap it around the star.

The FREEDOM is cut from Papertrey Ink patter paper, added Diamond Glaze for shine and pop dots to add dimension.

The two buttons are from CTMH and glued them with the glue gun, added the jute and tied in a bow.

Make sure to visit the BBTB for some amazing FREEDOM projects and join the hop for some blog candy. The hop starts HERE>

Have fun and GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

On both of these cards I used Baby's Breath Shimmerz Spritz.....have I told you how much I LOVE this product!!!! I really love the effect it leaves all over the project.

In case you are wondering how I did the bottom part of the mermaid, it's just Iridescent paper I bought at my LSS about 2 years ago. I only really use this paper for my beach layouts. As soon as I saw this mermaid stamp, I new I wanted to use it - it looks AWESOME!!! I stamped the image with Stazon onto the paper, added clear embossing powder, heated it, cut it out and glued to my original stamped image.

Welcome to another "Try it out Tuesday" for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This week Suzanne challenged us to use make a card using some acetate on it. I used the BUNNY stamp from the new ANKI Series 2 for SCACD stamp set. I absolutely LOVE this cute Bunny. I added some Ivory and Pink Flower Soft.

I punched out a scallop window and put the bunny image inside but you can see it from the outside of the card. I also used the Susanaments Series 2. I stamped the words SOME and BUNNY and cut it in thin strips, then the LOVES YOU in a separate strip. I really LOVE the look of the tags on this card.

Since the pattern paper had just a little mellon color, I added the polka dot Melon Berry ribbon from Papertry, Ink as well as the matching buttons to bring out the color in the pattern paper.

Make sure to visit the SCACD blog HERE to see all the other TIOT creations.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!!

.....just waiting for you......

WOOOO HOOOOO HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Oh how much I LOVE Friday's!!!! Last night I made this quick card to get my creative juices ready for the weekend. A few weeks ago I ordered a some LOCKHART stamps from Susana's store (SCACD) and I wanted to try this chair out so bad!!! To me, it's such a relaxing sight to see LOL Perhaps because I wish I could just be sitting on one of these at the beach reading a great book or looking through a nice craft magazine of course!!!!

When I finished the card, I added some Baby's Breath Shimmerz Spritz and some Spring Mix Flower Soft. The pattern paper is from Laura Ashley and most of the papers in this specific pack have a nice velvet effect to it - LOVE IT!! In addition, I used the Martha Stewart Dolly Lace punch and ribbon from Papertrey, Ink.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Father's Day weekend!!!

YES - it's that time again!!!! Our daughter is donating her hair for the second time tomorrow!!!!!!!! We just had it trimmed a month ago to assure she was donated the healthiest hair possible. For those of you who don't already know....her is a little story:

When Kasi was 4 years old we took her brother for his monthly trim. While there, there was a little girl donating her hair and she asked me why she was cutting her pony tail COMPLETELY OFF so I explained to her how Cancer worked and how the little kids that had this disease lost their hair during treatments. I further went on to explain how the girl was donating it to a special charity called LOCKS OF LOVE where they take the hair and make wigs for those children in need.

When we left the salon - she told me that she wanted to grow her hair and also donate it. Sure enough - a week before she turned 6, she donated it. Here are some pictures from that year:

First donation: February 2006:

After she donated it, she immediately looked at me and said "Mommy, I want to grow it and donate it AGAIN!!!!" She turned 8 in February and she is now ready to donate it for the 2nd time. We are so very proud of our little girl.

Tomorrow, I will post more pictures!!

Big hugs, T

MY OH MY.......BBTB challenge

Remember the other week that I made that COWBOY layout of my son for the BBTB challenge?? Well this week I made the 2nd page of the layout but of my COWGIRL!!! I had gotten that pocket die from Sizzix the other day and I JUST LOVE IT!!!

This weeks BBTB challenge has a little twist.....we had to use the FLOWER cut from the George cartridge following the SHEETLOAD OF CARDS sketch AND the SHEETCUTS clear or frosted acetate. I knew right away that I wanted to create the layout of my Cowgirl!! I also knew I wanted to heat emboss my acetate or at least attempt to LOL Of course my first flower shriveled up but after the first one - I became a pro - hee hee

Check out the BBTB HERE for other amazing takes on this weeks challenge.

Products: Flowers were cut using the Geroge Cricut Cartridge (deep Blade) on the Expression; Cardstock: Bazzill; Pattern papers: Doodlebug with glitter, Making Memories and Papertrey Ink; Ribbon; Papertrey Ink; Pocket Die: Sizzix; Brads: Elements; Title: Chunky Phrases from THE CUTTING CAFE; Ink: Versamark; White Embossing Power: a la mode; Border punch: EK Success new slim line; Stickles: Magenta and Black; White Gel Pen: Sakura; Misc sewing.

The ribbon at the bottom I cut from a bandana just like the one on her hat, sewed the edges and attached with staples using the gather technique which can be seen on a video from Kristina which can be found HERE.

Hugs to all, T

Are there ANY coffee lovers out there this fabulous Sunday???? Well my daughter and I LOVE to go to Starbucks on Sunday afternoons just to sit and chit chat. She is only 8 1/2 but this is our special time. She loves the "light" Caramel Fraps!!!

When we got back home, I decided to work on a gift card holder from SHEETCUTS!!! I am obsessed with making these. Wanted to also use a stamp set from CTMH that I have had for over a year.

Supplies: Gift card holder: SHEETCUTS; Cardstock and pattern paper all from CTMH; Stamps set: CTMH; Liquid Applique: CTMH; Ribbon: Papertrey, Ink; Ink: Colorbox fluid chalk ink; Copics; SHIMMERZ from SCACD (Coffee color); Distressing Ink: Tim Holtz

Hugs to all,

PUPPY LOVE - altered Clothespin

This coming week a very special friend will be having a birthday. SHE LOVES DOGS so I wanted to make her a picture frame for her furbabies but I didn't want to just alter a frame.

Remember the Turkey Thanksgiving altered clothespin I made?? Well this is exactly what I had in mind for this project. I was going to personalize it with the dogs names but opted out because this way she can change the pictures as she pleases.

Here are more pictures:

Supplies: Cricut Expression; Large Clothespin: Creative Imaginations; Cardstock and pattern paper: CTMH and Doodlebug; Corner punch: EK Success; Ribbon: Papertrey Ink; Frame: Accents Essential Cricut Cartridge; Puppy Love tag: Paper Pups Cricut Cartridge; Scallop Punch: EK Success; Hemp; Misc Sewing; Distressing Ink: Tim Holtz; Felt Flowers: Hello Kitty Sizzix Daisy Flowers die; Pearl Brads from the Wedding Section of Michaels; Metal Flower: Deja Views

After I took the pictures, I added some Black Swarovski crystals to the front part of the clothespin - in the middle of all the flowers - it just needed that extra touch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hugs, T
